The Museum is organizing a series of lectures in Turkish for the week of March 27- April 2, 2006, to celebrate 42nd Library Week. The lectures will be held free of charge at the Ottoman Bank Archives and Research Centre. On Tuesday, March 28, Assist. Prof. Christoph Neumann gives the first talk entitled, "The Mission Civilisatrice of the Servet-i Fünun: Ahmet İhsan and his Journal". This will be followed by Assist. Prof. Derin Terzioglu's lecture titled, "Practices of Literacy in Early Modern Ottoman Empire: The Dervishes," on Wednesday, March 29, and Nedret Isli's talk on the publishing houses of Bab-i Ali ("Bab-i Ali'de Yayinevleri"), scheduled for Thursday, March 30.
